A Great Weekend!!!

What a great weekend for our family!! We woke up Friday morning and had to get the kids up to open up our presents. Sam even complained that he was still so tired (and this was at 9am). After watching the kids open their gifts (Sam got Jeans, A new Black Titanium Watch, i-tunes gift card, and a Music maker, David got two new games and a Nerf gun and Sara got a Polly Pockets Cruise Ship, New clothes, Head Bands, A Fashion kit and a new cell phone) and Ryan open his (I surprised him with three books) we decided that we were going to go see a movie. I did not get anything for Christmas this year but that is what I asked for. I got the opportunity to watch my family have the Christmas that they deserve and that was the only Christmas Gift I needed. We wanted to go see Sherlock Holmes but it was completely sold out (on Christmas Day) so we went and saw Alvin and The Chipmunks, the Sweakwal. That was the cutest movie. The kids loved it and I was greatly surprised. We then went home and just spent time together. Then on Saturday we went to lunch and then took the kids to spend some of the Christmas Money that they received. Sam got two jackets, David got 4 games and Sara got Jewelry. Then we went and saw Sherlock Holmes. What a wonderful adaption of those characters. It was so different then what I am used to but it was really well done!! Then we went home and played the new Indiana Jones 2 game together until we went to bed.
I love just spending time together. Even though we are so far away from most of our beloved family, it was the best thing for us to move to Utah. We miss our family so much but are closer as a family for it.

So Tired

So Ryan and I went out to Walmart tonight to get the kids Christmas. Have you ever been to Walmart two days before Christmas??? Lets say that I will never do that again!! But we were able to find everything that we wanted for the kids!!! What a wonderful feeling to be able to know that the kids will have not one or two presents but also stockings on Christmas morning!! So now I am tired and can not wait to sleep. Have a wonderful night and Merry Christmas to you all!!!

A Christmas Miracle

Twas four nights before Christmas and all thru the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.
And as I am getting ready for bed I hear the doorbell ring and answer with dread.
"Who would be ringing right before bed."
As i stumble thru boxes and head for the door there is no one standing there anymore.
So I open the door to find a little treat and I quickly exclaim well isn't that neat.
I try and try to open the sack and finally tell Sara to get a knife for the task.
As I open the sack thinking chocolate would be great.
I am shock to find something else is my fate.
For Christmas was not to be this year. All our money went into our house (said with cheer).
And Heavenly Father knew of our fate and got someone to help with a wonderful trait.
For serving his children is a blessing indeed and now we get Christmas for everyone to share!!! What a wonderful blessing to have someone who cares enough to share Christmas with everyone here!!!

I am so blessed to have a Father in Heaven that knows of our needs and just as blessed to be in an area that have people answer that need (without me ever saying anything). We were great with just getting the house. But a little sad that the kids would not have anything to open Christmas morning. But we found 4 gift cards, one for Sara, David, Sam and Us. No note, nothing in writing, nothing to give any hint of who did it. But who ever did just made our Christmas more wonderful then they will ever know!!! I am grateful for those who care, and humbled by their generosity.

Our Weekend!!

We had the most amazing weekend with Grandma. It was not just the food that we ate or the songs that we sang, it was being together with the ones that we love. If they are family or just really close friends we got to enjoy being with one another. I also must say that we sounded great singing all those Christmas songs. I also got to watch my oldest son Sam jump in and keep on asking if there was anything that he could help grandma with. What an amazing feeling to see your child step up and care for others the way you want them to. I loved spending time with my sister, my brother in law and my wonderful nephew. Then on Sunday we went to church and heard all about our savior and even got to hear my aunt Debbie talk about her favorite Christmas memory and I got to learn something about my mom that I never knew.
This weekend was better then I could imagine (even with it being my 32 birthday!!!)

The Catch Up!!!

I am starting a blog so it will be easier to keep everyone up to date on our fast paced lives. I also hope to be able to come back and remember all that has happened. Where do I start!!! Here it goes!!!
Ryan and I were able to buy our first house this year. It was a very long/Short (I'll explain) process. Back in August we went out to breakfast and then decided to go for a walk. While we were walking we came across a open house for a condo. Ryan said come on lets go check it out. So we went and walked thru and fell in love with it. It was not as big as we wanted (3 bed, 2 1/2 bath, 1600 sf, no yard) but we could be happy there. So we started the process to get the house. We got the inspection, ordered the appraisal and put our earnest money down. Well as most of you know that can take awhile to get all that done. So about a month later we finally had the appraisal back and it came in $36,000 less than the amount we needed. It also was less than the owners owed. Well the owners just bought a new house and were willing to do a quick sell. So we decided to wait to get that approved. We gave them until the end of October before we knew we needed to find something else (we were trying to get the First Time Home buyers Credit that ended Nov. 30). Now this was the end of September and I kept on saying to Ryan that if this was meant to be it will happen. We had put our trust in the Lord and KNEW he would be taking care of us. While we were waiting Ryan found out that his job was going to be changing his work days to 5 days a week (he currently works 3 days, 12 1/2 hr shifts). We knew that he would not be able to do the 3 hr commute everyday and still be sane. Or he would have to go stay on the base for the week and we would see him on his two days off. Well I actually love spending time with him so we decided that to keep our family in tact we would have to move closer to his work. Because of what Dugway (the base) does it has to be in the middle of nowhere (they play war games and test bombs there) so the closest cities were either Tooele or Saratoga Springs/Eagle Mountain. One was north the other south (close to Provo). We talked and prayed about it and decided that the best thing for us would be to move to Saratoga Springs/Eagle Mountain. Not only would Ryan's drive be cut down by an hour, we also would be only 15-20 min from grandma and Lisa. So we contacted Holly (my cousin) to help us find a house out there (since that is where she lives). She was so amazing and after taking me around to a couple of places and showing me the neighborhoods she brought me over to one of Debbie's (my Aunt) houses.
Oh my I was in love. The detail, the craftsmanship, the style, the room, the View!!!
It was 4 bedrooms 3 1/2 bath 1/4 acre, with a garden tub (because we all know that is the most important thing!!!). I wanted Ryan and the kids to come and look at it before we put in the offer. So the next weekend we all drove up to look and it and they fell in love with it too!!! So that day we signed the agreement and 13 days later it closed!!! We kept on saying that if it was meant to be it will just happen. Now I do believe that Grandpa was up there pulling some strings (so we can be closer to Grandma) but we know that it was only because of living righteously that we were able to achieve this. So we closed Nov. 2 and moved in that next weekend (I had not even packed a thing). So with A LOT of help we were able to get it all done!!
